Baltic tax library

About BalticNavigator

Part of the BalticNavigator knowledge base, styled consistently with the redesigned homepage.

BalticNavigator helps founders, operators, investors, and professionals compare Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania before they hire, relocate, incorporate, or model business costs.

The site turns public tax and business information into practical first-pass comparisons: payroll cost, estimated net salary, VAT invoice totals, dividend distribution tax, legal entity context, economic indicators, and startup hiring guidance.

What is free

The calculators and guides are free to use. Completing a calculator does not create a paid account, trigger a sales call, or require an email address. The result is meant to help you prepare better questions before speaking with an accountant, lawyer, payroll provider, or local adviser.

Who is responsible

BalticNavigator is published and maintained by OU Papp&Plastik. Editorial responsibility sits with BalticNavigator. Questions, corrections, and source updates can be sent through the contact page.

Methodology

Calculators use simplified resident-employee and standard-rate assumptions so users can compare countries quickly. The site prioritises decision support over exhaustive tax modelling: compare employer cost, net pay, VAT totals, distribution tax, and country fit, then confirm final treatment locally.

Sources and update practice

High-stakes tax and payroll pages should be checked against official or specialist sources including the Estonian Tax and Customs Board, Latvian State Revenue Service, Lithuanian State Tax Inspectorate, Sodra, finance ministries, and recognised tax summaries. The current homepage assumption year is 2026. Last updated: 17 July 2026.

Limits

BalticNavigator is not a law firm, accounting firm, payroll provider, or official public authority. Information may be simplified, incomplete, or outdated. Use the calculators as a screening layer, not as legal, tax, payroll, immigration, or investment advice.
